The Muslims of Victoria: Storis of Migration, Community and Homemaking is a digital community project that tells the stories of 10 migrant Muslim Australians from Albanian, Turkish, Cypriot Turkish, Macedonian, and Bosnian backgrounds. The films feature a range of Muslim voices sharing their journeys of migration, community, identity, faith, participation, and sense of belonging in Victoria. Their accounts exemplify the courage, adaptability, unity and contributions of Muslims in Victoria.
The project was funded by Public Record Office of Victoria and led by Dr. Lutfiye Ali on behalf of North Cyprus Turkish Community Centre of Victoria, in partnership with Cyprus Turkish Islamic Community of Victoria (Sunshine Mosque) and Community, Identity, and Displacement Research Network (CIRDN). The films were directed by Dr. Lutfiye Ali and produced by Digital Ethnographer, Dr. Kelly Ka Lai Chan.
